CP Cases introduces ERV3
CP Cases recently won a contract worth over £500k to provide more than 350 specialised lightweight ERack enclosures to a global telecoms and traffic management company for delivery through 2020 – 2021.
The end client is the world leader in digital comms, employing more than 5000 people, with customers in over 50 countries and revenues approaching €750m PA. Following detailed technical discussions and compliance conformance, CP’s innovative new ERV3 ERacks were down selected to meet the stringent physical, climatic and environmental requirements of this application.
CP’s ERV3 products are the latest design iteration of the long established ERack product range first developed in conjunction with Brunel University some 30 years ago.
Manufactured from high tensile aerospace grade lightweight aluminium, ERV3 19” enclosures are fully welded monocoque structures offering exceptional performance in extreme environments, and highly resistant to sea water, salt fog and chemical environments.
Accredited to MIL STD 810G and IP66, the ERV3 welded construction can be configured to be EMC screened, whilst still accommodating pressure and vacuum relief and 2-way venting using a proprietary CP designed EMC and IP66 compliant valve.
The shock mounted 19” chassis is suspended in the ERack body by a calibrated configuration of AVM’s (anti vibration mounts) modelled and selected to perform to the specific technical requirements of the application, taking into account the equipment fragility, climate and electromagnetic conditions during the equipment life when “in the field” use and rough handling are par for the course.
Customised deep lids to accommodate connectors and switches have recessed panels welded into them. Fully gasketed against driving rain and blowing sand. The lids are also key lockable to prevent casual inquisitive intruders whilst in unattended transit or storage situations. ERacks are designed to compatibly inter-stack with other 19” enclosures.
